Post Details

The University of Copenhagen invites applications for a 3-year PhD Fellowship in Neuroscience at the Department of Neuroscience. The selected candidate will conduct advanced research focusing on neurovascular signalling, brain-machine interfaces, two-photon microscopy, electrophysiology, and in vivo neuroscience techniques.

The project aims to improve the understanding of neurological disorders by combining cutting-edge imaging technologies with neuroscience research. The successful candidate will work in an internationally recognized research group with access to modern laboratories and advanced scientific infrastructure.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biology, Medicine, or a related discipline.
  • Academic qualifications meeting the University of Copenhagen PhD admission requirements.
  • Strong interest in neuroscience and experimental biomedical research.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Experience Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Neuroscience research
  • Two-photon microscopy
  • Electrophysiology
  • Brain imaging
  • In vivo neuroscience experiments
  • Neurovascular biology
  • Biomedical laboratory techniques
  • Scientific data analysis

Prior research publications and laboratory experience will be considered an added advantage.


Salary / Funding

The position is a fully funded 3-year PhD Fellowship.

Salary and employment benefits will be provided according to the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. In addition to the monthly salary, candidates will receive pension benefits and access to world-class research facilities at the University of Copenhagen.
