National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli is one of India's premier Institutes of National Importance, recognized for excellence in engineering education, research, and innovation. The institute undertakes several sponsored research projects funded by national agencies and promotes advanced research in science and technology. The present recruitment is offered through the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering under an Advanced Research Grant (ARG) funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).


About the Post

Applications are invited for one (01) Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate-I position for the research project titled:

"Hosting Capacity and Flexibility Market Enhancement using Decentralized Optimization in TSO-DSO-DER Coordinated Framework."

The project focuses on:

  • Power system modelling
  • Decentralized optimization
  • Renewable energy integration
  • Distributed Energy Resources (DER)
  • Distribution Locational Marginal Pricing (DLMP)
  • Stochastic optimization
  • Risk-aware reserve procurement
  • Power system analysis and simulation

Selected candidates will work on coding, simulation, optimization, technical report writing, and research publications. Outstanding candidates may also get an opportunity to register for a Ph.D. at NIT Tiruchirappalli, subject to institute norms.

Eligible applicants must:

  • Hold a First Class B.E./B.Tech. in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electrical & Electronics Engineering
    • Electrical & Computer Engineering
    • Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering
  • Candidates with M.E./M.Tech. in Power Systems Engineering or equivalent with First Class (minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA) will be preferred.
  • Candidates applying for the JRF position should possess a valid GATE score.
  • Have knowledge of:

    • Simulation
    • Data Analysis
    • Technical Report Writing
  • Meet the age and eligibility criteria prescribed by the institute.
