About the Organization
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, is India's apex body for biomedical research. Through its TB Research Accelerator Program, ICMR aims to accelerate research and innovation in tuberculosis diagnostics, treatment, prevention, and implementation research to support India's goal of eliminating TB by 2030.
About the Call
ICMR has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) for research proposals focusing on priority research areas under the TB Research Accelerator Program.
The program seeks innovative research proposals in four major domains:
- Case Finding & Diagnostics
- TB Treatment
- TB Prevention
- Implementation & Operational Research
Selected organizations will receive financial support from ICMR to conduct high-impact research aimed at improving tuberculosis diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and public health implementation across India.
How to Apply
- Read the official EoI document carefully.
- Prepare the proposal using Annexure-I or Annexure-II, depending on the project category.
- Complete the required declaration.
- Submit the proposal as a soft copy along with the signed declaration.
- Email the complete proposal to icmr.trac@gmail.com before the last date.
- Address the submission to the Head, Division of Communicable Diseases, ICMR.

- Principal Investigators with regular appointments
- Contractual/Temporary Faculty (subject to ICMR conditions)
- Organizations with adequate research infrastructure and expertise in tuberculosis research.

Recognized R&D Laboratories
Government or Semi-Government Organizations
NGOs (with required recognition)
Contractual/temporary faculty may also apply as PI, provided:
The Head of the Institution provides an undertaking accepting administrative and financial responsibility.
One Co-Principal Investigator is a regular employee of the institution.
The PI does not draw salary/remuneration from the project grant.
Have the necessary infrastructure, expertise, and experience to conduct TB research.
Submit proposals in any of the identified priority areas under Diagnostics, Treatment, Prevention, or Implementation/Operational Research.
