The Institute for Development & Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) was established by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in March 1996. Located in Hyderabad, IDRBT functions as a premier research institute for adoption, absorption, and integration of technology in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector. The institute has developed critical financial infrastructure platforms including INFINET, NFS, SFMS, NEFT, and RTGS.

About Position

IDRBT invites applications for Assistant Professor and Associate Professor positions under a rolling advertisement scheme. A total of 15 vacancies are announced (10 for Assistant Professor and 5 for Associate Professor), which may vary based on expertise and experience. Selected faculty members will engage in research, academics, executive development programs, and consultancy in financial technology.

Qualifications & Experience

• Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in related areas with a first class or equivalent grade in the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout.

• Age Limit: Candidates should be below 35 years of age on the date of award of the Ph.D.

• Experience Criteria:

  • Assistant Professor Grade II (Level 10): Up to 1 year of post-Ph.D. experience; candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis are also eligible.

  • Assistant Professor Grade II (Level 11): Candidates without 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience.

  • Assistant Professor Grade I (Level 12): Minimum 3 years of post-Ph.D. research/teaching/professional experience.

  • Associate Professor (Level 13A2): Minimum 6 years of post-Ph.D. experience, of which at least 3 years must be at the Assistant Professor Grade I level.

Selection Process

Applications will be evaluated on a fortnightly basis from the date of advertisement. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview round based on suitability and research profile.
