About the Organization

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kalyani is an Institute of National Importance established under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute focuses on advanced education and research in Information Technology, Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, and allied engineering disciplines while promoting industry-oriented innovation and research.

Fellowship Overview

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

• Must be an Indian National.
• Must possess a PhD from a recognized university.
• PhD should be in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) or IT/IT Enabled Services (IT/ITES).
• PhD should have been completed within the last 5 years.
• Must have an excellent academic record with first-class performance throughout.
• Must possess peer-reviewed publications and research achievements.
• Candidates currently in regular employment are not eligible.
• Temporary researchers may apply but must resign if selected.
• Candidates who completed their PhD from IIIT Kalyani are not eligible.
• Preference will be given to applicants with industry-linked research proposals. 

Selection Process

Selection will be based on:

• Verification of eligibility criteria.
• Academic achievements.
• Research proposal evaluation.
• Written Test (if conducted).
• Personal Interview.
• Final merit prepared by IIIT Kalyani. 

Fellowship & Internship Details

Fellowship Amount

₹1,08,393 per month along with ₹1 lakh annual research contingency and travel support as per scheme norms.

Duration

1 Year (Full-Time Temporary Fellowship). 

Age Limit

Maximum 40 years as on the last date of application.

Test Scores Accepted

No national test score (GATE/NET/JRF) has been specified.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a PhD in ESDM or IT/ITES-related areas, completed within the last five years, possess an excellent academic record with publications, and satisfy all eligibility conditions prescribed in the notification.
