Position: Assistant Professor of Advanced Materials Institute: Rice Advanced Materials Institute (RAMI) Schools: George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing, Wiess School of Natural Sciences Location: Houston, Texas Nature of Appointment: Tenure-track faculty position Start Date: Between July 1, 2027, and January 7, 2028 Research Areas:
Computational and AI/ML-informed materials research
Next-generation electronics and photonics
Energy materials for storage, conversion, and harvesting
Resource materials for sustainability and environmental stewardship
Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. in a field closely related to materials science, conferred by July 1, 2027.
Demonstrated excellence in scholarship, teaching, and collegial service.
Expertise may include Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Chemistry, Computational Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics and Astronomy.
Experience Requirements
Proven research record in experimental, computational, modeling, or simulation-based materials science.
Ability to develop and lead an independent research program.
Commitment to mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
