Position: Assistant Professor of Advanced Materials Institute: Rice Advanced Materials Institute (RAMI) Schools: George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing, Wiess School of Natural Sciences Location: Houston, Texas Nature of Appointment: Tenure-track faculty position Start Date: Between July 1, 2027, and January 7, 2028 Research Areas:

• Computational and AI/ML-informed materials research

• Next-generation electronics and photonics

• Energy materials for storage, conversion, and harvesting

• Resource materials for sustainability and environmental stewardship

Eligibility Criteria

• Ph.D. in a field closely related to materials science, conferred by July 1, 2027.

• Demonstrated excellence in scholarship, teaching, and collegial service.

• Expertise may include Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Chemistry, Computational Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics and Astronomy.

Experience Requirements

• Proven research record in experimental, computational, modeling, or simulation-based materials science.

• Ability to develop and lead an independent research program.

• Commitment to mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
