Position Overview
The University of Amsterdam is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher to develop stable optical circuits for quantum technology. The researcher will contribute to designing, prototyping, testing, validating, and optimizing advanced optical systems while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary research team.
The role offers hands-on experience in developing scalable optical systems, robotic manufacturing workflows, and photonic technologies with opportunities to contribute to commercialization through OpticsFoundry B.V.

Salary

Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust optical circuits for quantum technologies.
- Build and integrate advanced optical systems including lasers, cavities, spectroscopy cells, and photonic integrated circuits.
- Develop robotic manufacturing workflows for scalable optical system production.
- Prototype, validate, debug, and optimize optical hardware and production processes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers and industry partners.
- Contribute to practical implementation of quantum technology solutions.
- Support technology transfer and commercialization activities through OpticsFoundry B.V.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess:
- Recent PhD in Experimental Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics or closely related discipline.
- Strong background in optics.
- Experience with electronics and control software.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic research environment.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills.
