About Recruitment & Assessment Centre (RAC)
The Recruitment & Assessment Centre (RAC) is the specialised recruitment and assessment organisation of DRDO responsible for the selection and career management of scientific personnel.
RAC plays an important role in recruiting scientists and engineers for DRDO and associated organisations, including the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).
The Chairperson will provide senior-level leadership in formulating recruitment and assessment policies and ensuring that the selection of scientific personnel is conducted with objectivity, integrity and confidentiality.

Eligibility Criteria
The position is intended for eminent senior-level professionals with extensive experience in scientific, technological, academic or administrative leadership.

- Other distinguished professionals meeting the prescribed seniority and experience requirements
Candidates should have held a position equivalent to the level of:
Secretary to the Government of India

Job Responsibilities
The Chairperson will have a strategic leadership role in the functioning of RAC.
Major responsibilities include:
- Formulating recruitment policies for DRDO scientists.
- Developing assessment policies for scientific personnel.
- Providing strategic guidance to RAC.
- Overseeing recruitment and assessment activities.

Pay & Benefits
The Chairperson will receive:
Fixed Pay: ₹2,25,000 per month

Selection Process
The selection will not be through a conventional written examination.

The selection process will be carried out in accordance with applicable Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) instructions and will be subject to approval of the:
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC)
The Search-cum-Selection Committee may also consider suitable candidates outside the pool of applications received, if considered appropriate.
