The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), headquartered at Parivesh Bhawan, Delhi, is a statutory organization under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC). CPCB is responsible for promoting cleanliness of streams and wells, improving air quality, and coordinating activities of State Pollution Control Boards. This recruitment is part of the SER-Phase III Project under the Namami Gange Programme.

Nature of Appointment: Purely contractual, initially for one year, extendable based on performance and project requirements. Place of Posting: CPCB Head Office (Delhi) and Regional Directorates at Lucknow, Kolkata, Chandigarh.
Eligibility Criteria
Scientist-D: First-class Master’s in Environmental/Natural Sciences OR First-class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology (Environmental/Chemical/Civil/Energy/Biotech). Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience. Publications/technical reports required.
Scientist-C: First-class Master’s in Environmental/Natural Sciences OR First-class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology. Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience. Publications/technical reports required.
Scientist-B: First-class Master’s in Environmental/Natural Sciences OR First-class Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology. Valid GATE score (≥90 percentile) or NET-JRF. Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience.
Assistant Manager (Finance): Master’s in Commerce/CA/MBA (Finance). 8 years’ post-qualification experience in finance, taxation, payroll, accounting software.
Administrative Assistant: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ administrative experience (Govt./PSU preferred). Skill test required.
Scientific Assistant: Master’s in Environmental/Natural Sciences OR Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology. Valid GATE score (≥90 percentile) or NET-JRF.
Taxonomist: First-class M.Sc. (Botany/Zoology preferred). Valid GATE score (≥90 percentile) or NET-JRF. Publications/technical reports required.
Data Entry Operator: Bachelor’s in Science/BCA. Skill test in MS Office, English typing (45 wpm), Hindi typing (35 wpm).
Field Assistant: 10+2 in Science with minimum 55%. Knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and preservation.
Experience Requirements
Vary by post (3–8 years for Scientist/Manager roles).
Publications in UGC Care/Scopus journals, technical reports, or books required for Scientist posts.
Practical experience in pollution control, sewage management, environmental monitoring preferred.

Scientist-D – ₹1,71,597 per month
Scientist-C – ₹1,48,997 per month
Scientist-B – ₹1,25,380 per month
Assistant Manager (Finance) – ₹1,19,272 per month
Administrative Assistant – ₹77,654 per month
Scientific Assistant – ₹77,654 per month
Taxonomist – ₹65,031 per month
Data Entry Operator – ₹57,498 per month
Field Assistant – ₹38,741 per month
Selection Process
