DRDO SSPL Internship 2026

The Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has invited applications for its 6-Month Paid Internship Programme 2026. The internship is designed for final-year B.E./B.Tech, M.Sc., and M.Tech students who wish to gain hands-on research experience in advanced defence technologies.

Selected interns will work alongside DRDO scientists on research projects related to Physics, Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, Quantum Technology, Material Science, Laser Optics, and Electrical Engineering. The programme offers a fixed stipend of ₹5,000 per month and provides valuable exposure to one of India's leading defence research laboratories.

About SSPL

The Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL) is a premier laboratory under DRDO engaged in research and development of advanced semiconductor materials, optoelectronic devices, infrared technologies, quantum materials, laser systems, sensors, and strategic electronic components for defence applications.

The laboratory offers students an opportunity to participate in live research projects under the guidance of experienced DRDO scientists and researchers.

Internship Details

Programme Name: Paid Internship Programme 2026

Total Positions: 65

Duration: 6 Months

Internship Commencement: December 2026 / January 2027

Location: SSPL, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi

Eligible Disciplines

Applications are invited from students pursuing studies in the following disciplines:

Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

• Final Year (Last Semester) students only.
• Currently pursuing:
  • B.E./B.Tech
  • M.Sc.
  • M.Tech
• The degree should be in one of the relevant disciplines mentioned in the official notification.

Stipend

Selected interns will receive:

• ₹5,000 per month
• Total stipend: ₹30,000 for six months

Stipend Payment Schedule

• ₹15,000 after successful completion of the first three months.
• ₹15,000 after successful completion of the six-month internship.

Attendance Requirement

Interns must maintain a minimum attendance of 15 working days every month to remain eligible for stipend payment.
