About the Fellowship
Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the ISRO-sponsored research project titled "Self-lubricating Ceramic Materials for Spacecraft Application". The project is being conducted in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Patna. Selected candidates may also apply for the PhD programme of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct literature review and research activities.
- Perform experimental work and data analysis.
- Assist the Principal Investigator in project execution.
- Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations.
- Collaborate with research team members.
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with research protocols and ethical guidelines.
Who Can Apply?
Candidates with B.E./B.Tech (with GATE score) or M.E./M.Tech/M.S./M.Sc. qualifications in eligible engineering and science disciplines can apply. Preference will be given to applicants having research experience in ceramic materials processing, tribology, microstructural characterization, CAD/CAM modelling, and aerospace material applications.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible disciplines include Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Energy Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and allied Engineering/Science disciplines.
Research experience in ceramic materials processing, microstructural characterization, sintering, mechanical property evaluation, CAD/CAM modelling, and tribology will be preferred.
