The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has released the Ph.D. Admission Announcement 2026-27 for the September 2026 session. The University, a Central University and an Institution of Eminence, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to 15 Ph.D. programmes based on UGC-NET/CSIR-UGC-NET results.

Ph.D. Chemistry Admission 2026
Among the notified programmes, Ph.D. Chemistry has the highest intake with 49 seats.
Eligibility for Ph.D. Chemistry
Candidates must have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Chemistry or an allied subject with at least 55% marks.
The notification specifically states that M.Sc. in Physics, Materials Science, or Life Sciences will be treated as allied subjects for this programme.
Admission to Ph.D. Chemistry is through CSIR-UGC-NET, with Chemical Science as the eligible NET stream.
Candidates admitted to Ph.D. Chemistry should also be able to conduct experiments independently. The notification states that there will be no provision for assistance or a scribe for conducting experiments.
