For 2027, the award has been presented to Professor Eleftheria Zeggini, Director of the Institute of Translational Genomics at Helmholtz Munich, Germany, for her pioneering work in human genomics and translational genetics.

Professor Eleftheria Zeggini is internationally recognized for advancing the understanding of the genetic basis of complex human diseases. Her research has transformed large-scale genomic discoveries into clinically relevant insights through innovative computational and statistical genetics approaches.
