The India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) was established by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to strengthen democratic systems and election management through education, training, research, innovation, and international cooperation. The institute conducts national and international capacity-building programs for Election Management Bodies (EMBs), government officials, policymakers, and democratic institutions.
IIIDEM functions through specialized schools and centres focusing on democratic governance, electoral law, election technology, research & innovation, and domestic as well as international election training.
About the Recruitment
IIIDEM is inviting applications for the position of Program Officer to assist in planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting various national and international programs related to democracy and election management.
Selected candidates will work closely with IIIDEM's Schools and Centres while coordinating with ministries, state governments, Election Management Bodies, international organizations, embassies, academic institutions, and development partners. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to governance reforms, democratic capacity building, election research, and India's international engagement in election management.
Key Responsibilities
The selected Program Officers will be responsible for:
- Planning and managing national and international training programs.
- Preparing project plans, work schedules, and monitoring implementation.
- Coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Supporting conferences, workshops, seminars, delegation visits, and capacity-building initiatives.
- Managing partnerships with ministries, CEOs, EMBs, embassies, academic institutions, and international organizations.
- Assisting in policy research, documentation, and knowledge management.
- Preparing reports, dashboards, presentations, and official documents.
- Supporting India's Chairship of International IDEA and other international cooperation initiatives.
- Monitoring project timelines, resolving implementation issues, and ensuring quality delivery.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess a Master's degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Public Administration, Development Studies, Management, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university along with relevant professional experience. Candidates holding a Master's degree in International Electoral Management and Practices (MIEMP) or a Bachelor's degree with higher professional experience are also eligible as specified in the notification. Experience in governance, academics, training, research, international development cooperation, program management, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and report writing is desirable.
