Position Overview

The selected Research Associate will work on a British Heart Foundation-funded research project investigating vascular dysfunction in early Alzheimer's disease. The project aims to understand the relationship between cerebrovascular function and cognitive decline by combining advanced neuroimaging techniques with clinical research.

The successful candidate will join an internationally recognized multidisciplinary research team and contribute to innovative studies involving MRI, EEG, neurophysiology, and biomedical data analysis.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research related to cerebrovascular dysfunction and Alzheimer's disease.
  • Perform MRI, EEG, and neurophysiological data collection and analysis.
  • Handle and analyse large-scale biomedical and clinical datasets.
  • Assist in designing, planning, and executing research experiments.
  • Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts, and research publications.
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate research records and ensure compliance with research ethics.
  • Support grant-related activities and contribute to ongoing research projects.
  • Participate in departmental research meetings and academic discussions.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess:

  • A Ph.D. (completed or near completion) in:
    • Neuroscience
    • Psychology
    • Biomedical Engineering
    • Physics
    • Cellular Biology
    • Or a closely related discipline

Candidates should also demonstrate:

  • Experience with human neurophysiological or neuroimaging data (EEG, MRI, or both).
  • Experience working directly with research participants.
  • Strong programming and data analysis skills (preferably MATLAB).
  • Experience handling large-scale neural or clinical datasets.
  • Publication record with at least one first-author manuscript (published or under revision).
  • Knowledge of vascular biology.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative research skills.
