RRB JE Recruitment 2026 | 4,098 Vacancies Approved

The Ministry of Railways, Government of India, through the Railway Board, has officially approved 4,098 vacancies for the upcoming Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) JE Recruitment 2026. The approval has been issued through Official Reference No. E (MPP)/2026/24/4/JE-DMS-CMA, dated 01 July 2026.

The recruitment will be conducted through a Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and will include appointments for Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) in Pay Level-6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

This recruitment is expected to be one of the largest engineering recruitments under the Indian Railways in 2026.

Expected Educational Qualification

Junior Engineer (JE)

Candidates are expected to possess:

  • Three-Year Diploma in the relevant Engineering discipline

OR

  • B.E./B.Tech Degree in the relevant Engineering branch.

Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering.

Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

Expected Age Limit

The detailed notification is yet to be released. Based on previous RRB JE recruitments, the expected age criteria are:

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 33–36 Years (subject to the final notification)

Age relaxation is expected for reserved categories as per Government of India norms.


Expected Selection Process

The recruitment is expected to include the following stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT-1)
  2. Computer-Based Test (CBT-2)
  3. Document Verification (DV)
  4. Medical Examination

Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed under:

  • Pay Level-6 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)

In addition to the basic pay, employees will receive admissible allowances such as:

  • Dearness Allowance (DA)
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA)
  • Transport Allowance (TA)
