GSET 2026 Notification Released | Apply Online for Gujarat State Eligibility Test

GSET is a state-level eligibility test that determines the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in colleges and universities across Gujarat.

🔹 Notification Released: 22 June 2026
🔹 Online Application Starts: 22 June 2026
🔹 Last Date to Apply Online: 22 July 2026
🔹 GSET 2026 Examination: 29 November 2026

🎓 Eligibility Criteria
• Candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and SEBC (Non-Creamy Layer) categories must have secured at least 55% marks in their Master's degree or equivalent examination.
• Candidates from SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender categories require a minimum of 50% marks.
• Final-year postgraduate students and candidates awaiting their results are also eligible to apply provisionally, subject to fulfilling the required eligibility conditions within the prescribed time.
• There is no upper age limit for appearing in the GSET examination.

💰 Application Fee
• General / EWS / SEBC (NCL): ₹900
• SC / ST / Third Gender: ₹700
• Persons with Disability (PwD): ₹100

📝 Examination Pattern
The examination will be conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode and will consist of two objective-type papers:
✔ Paper I: 50 Questions | 100 Marks | Teaching & Research Aptitude
✔ Paper II: 100 Questions | 200 Marks | Subject-Specific
✅ No Negative Marking

📚 The examination will be conducted in 36 postgraduate subjects at multiple examination centres across Gujarat. The language of the question paper varies according to the selected subject.
