High Court of Gujarat Librarian Recruitment 2026 – 30 Group-C Vacancies

The High Court of Gujarat, Sola, Ahmedabad has released Advertisement No. RC/B/1458/2026 for direct recruitment to Group-C Librarian positions in the State Judiciary.

A total of 30 vacancies are available for Librarian and Librarian cum Research Assistant posts. Eligible candidates can apply online through the HC-OJAS portal from 01 October 2026.

Vacancy Details

In addition to the pay scale, selected candidates will be eligible for usual allowances as admissible under the applicable rules.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc.) or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
• Degree in Law (LL.B.) is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Sufficient knowledge of English, Gujarati and Hindi languages.

Experience

Candidates should have at least 2 years of work experience in a well-organized library after obtaining the prescribed Library and Information Science degree.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on 20 October 2026.

Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 37 years

Age Relaxation

Applicable relaxation is provided for eligible categories as per the recruitment rules, including:

• Women candidates – 5 years
• PwBD candidates – 10 years
• State Government employees – up to 5 years

The applicable upper age limit and relaxation conditions will be governed by the official recruitment notification.

Pay Scale

₹25,500 – ₹81,100/-

Selected candidates will also receive applicable allowances as per the rules of the High Court/Government.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

1. Main Written Examination – 100 Marks

• Objective Type / Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Total Marks: 100
• Duration: 2 Hours

2. Viva-voce Test – 40 Marks

Shortlisted candidates from the written examination will be called for the Viva-voce / Oral Interview as per the prescribed recruitment procedure.
