About the Position

The University of Dundee is recruiting an outstanding Postdoctoral Researcher to join the internationally renowned MRC Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit (MRC PPU) within the Faculty of Life Sciences. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge research investigating LRRK2 signalling in Parkinson's disease using advanced mass spectrometry and quantitative proteomics. DRA PDRA Job advert

The project is funded through the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) LRRK2 Investigative Therapeutic Exchange (LITE) Initiative, aiming to accelerate biomarker discovery and therapeutic development for Parkinson's disease. Research Responsibilities

The selected researcher will:

  • Conduct advanced mass spectrometry experiments on LRRK2 signalling.
  • Investigate Rab GTPase phosphorylation and lysosomal signalling.
  • Develop organelle proteomics workflows.
  • Generate quantitative proteomics and phosphoproteomics datasets.
  • Identify biomarkers for Parkinson's disease.
  • Analyze large biological datasets using Python and R.
  • Publish research in leading international journals.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess:

  • Ph.D. (completed or near completion) in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong publication record.
  • Experience in quantitative mass spectrometry.
  • Knowledge of computational proteomics.
  • Expertise in Python or R for data analysis.
  • Experience with Orbitrap or timsTOF instrumentation is desirable.
