CIMPA-ICTP Fellowship 2027 “Research in Pairs” – Apply by 24 April

About the Fellowship

The CIMPA-ICTP “Research in Pairs” Fellowship 2027 supports mathematicians from developing countries to collaborate with a European researcher on a well-defined research project.

The selected fellows will:

Work at a European host institution

Collaborate on advanced mathematical research

Deliver an 8-hour mini-course (recorded for global students)

Priority is given to candidates facing challenges like heavy teaching loads or limited research opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

For Candidate

Must have completed PhD (at least 3 years ago)

Must be working in an academic institution in a developing country for the past 5 years

For Host Researcher

Must hold a PhD in Mathematics

Must be based in one of the following countries:

Germany

Spain

France

Italy

Netherlands

Norway

Switzerland

Fellowship Requirements

Collaboration on a research project

Deliver an 8-hour mathematics mini-course (in English or French)

Host must submit a supporting letter (mandatory)

Fellowship Benefits

Funding up to €10,000

Covers:

Travel expenses

Accommodation

Insurance

Visa costs

Duration

Minimum 5 weeks of research stay (additional week for recording lectures)
