About DPIIT

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, was established in 1995 and restructured in 2000. It was earlier known as the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) and renamed DPIIT in 2019.

About the Internship

DPIIT invites applications for its Internship Scheme 2026 aimed at providing students exposure to the working of Government of India and various policy frameworks.

Open throughout the year

Internship duration: 1 to 3 months

Mode of application: Online only

Eligibility Criteria

Students pursuing the following are eligible:

• Engineering
• Management
• Law
• Economics
• Finance
• Computer Science
• Library Management
• Students from other disciplines may also be considered based on requirements.

Stipend

₹10,000 per month (subject to satisfactory completion)

1 Month / 2 Months / 3 Months (as per candidate preference)

Selection Process

Applications are reviewed by DPIIT Establishment Division

Departments request interns based on requirements

Final selection by Bureau Head

Offer letter issued after approval

Internship completion requires:

Submission of report

Work completion certificate

Internship Requirements

Maintain attendance record

Submit final report on learning experience

Work under supervision of division head
