The Escola de Artes, Ciências e Humanidades – University of São Paulo (EACH-USP), Brazil, has announced applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the interdisciplinary area of Urban Heat Modeling and Meteo-Hydraulic Processes.

The fellowship is funded by FAPESP and offered under the international research project Urban Health Twin: A participatory digital Twin to investigate the effects of Nature-Based Solutions on climate change-induced urban health challenges.

This research initiative aims to develop climate adaptation strategies and digital twin methodologies for addressing climate-induced urban health risks and improving resilience in vulnerable communities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess:

  • Ph.D. degree in relevant interdisciplinary fields
  • Strong experience in programming and data analysis
  • Knowledge of geoprocessing tools
  • Statistical and simulation modeling expertise
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese
  • Availability for community fieldwork in São Paulo
  • Ability to participate in international collaboration activities


Research Responsibilities

Selected researchers will contribute to:

  • Climate and urban heat simulations
  • Environmental and health data integration
  • Water dynamics and vector ecology analysis
  • Development of urban adaptation policies
  • Collaborative research with Dutch partner institutions
