DRDO ITR Paid Internship 2026-27 for B.Tech, M.Tech & M.Sc Students | ₹5,000 Monthly Stipend | Apply Before 25 June 2026

The Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, one of the most prestigious laboratories under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has announced its Paid Internship Scheme 2026-27 for meritorious Engineering and Science students. ITR plays a critical role in India's strategic defence ecosystem and is responsible for the testing, evaluation, tracking, telemetry, and validation of missile systems, aerospace technologies, and defence platforms.

The internship program is designed to provide practical exposure to cutting-edge defence technologies and advanced scientific research. Selected students will work under the guidance of experienced DRDO scientists and engineers while contributing to ongoing projects in communication systems, aerospace engineering, electronics, missile technologies, control systems, artificial intelligence, networking, and atmospheric sciences.

The internship duration is six months, and students will be stationed at ITR Chandipur, Balasore, Odisha. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, subject to satisfactory performance and completion of attendance requirements. Stipend payments are generally released in installments as per DRDO guidelines.

Internship Details

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must:

• Be Indian nationals.
• Be pursuing a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate Engineering/Science program from a recognized Indian University or Institute.
• Be in the final year of their course.
• Possess a strong academic record.
• Submit a recommendation/request letter from the Principal/Director of their institution.
• Attach a brief biodata highlighting academic achievements and technical accomplishments.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on:

• Academic performance and merit.
• Evaluation of submitted documents.
• Online interaction/interview through Video Conferencing or Telephone, if required.
• Recommendation from the institution.

Important Conditions

• Interns must maintain a minimum of 15 working days physical attendance per month.
• No boarding or lodging facilities will be provided.

• Internship certificates will be issued only after successful completion of the program and project evaluation.
