Overview
The Defence Institute of Biodefence Technologies (DIBT), a specialized research laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation, has announced its Paid Internship Scheme 2026-27 for postgraduate science students. DIBT is actively engaged in advanced biodefence research, biological threat detection, diagnostics, microbial technologies, and strategic bioscience applications supporting national security and defence preparedness.
Applications are invited from eligible final-year M.Sc students pursuing Biotechnology or Microbiology from recognized Indian Universities and Institutes. The internship provides an opportunity to work directly with DRDO scientists on cutting-edge biodefence research projects while gaining practical exposure to laboratory techniques, biological analysis, and defence-oriented scientific innovation.
The internship duration is six months, scheduled from 1 July 2026 to 31 December 2026, at the DIBT campus in Mysuru, Karnataka. Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, amounting to a total internship benefit of ₹30,000 subject to successful completion and performance requirements. Stipend payments are generally released in installments as per DRDO internship guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
- Be Indian nationals.
