AP University Faculty Recruitment 2026 Notification Out: 1523 Assistant Professor, Lecturer & Other Vacancies – Apply Online

Great news for teaching job aspirants in Andhra Pradesh! Andhra University, on behalf of the state government, has officially released the massive AP University Faculty Recruitment 2026 notification. A total of 1,523 vacancies have been announced for various teaching and academic staff positions across 19 state public universities in Andhra Pradesh.

Eligible candidates can submit their online applications via the official common recruitment portal at apuniversitiesrecruitment.apcfss.in starting from 18th May 2026.

Post-Wise Vacancy Details

Out of the total 1,523 sanctioned posts, 1,244 are fresh regular positions, while 279 are reserved backlog vacancies. Here is the clear distribution of the positions:

• Assistant Professor: 1,020 Posts
  
• Associate Professor: 334 Posts
  
• Lecturer (RGUKT): 104 Posts
  
• Professor: 63 Posts
  
• Assistant Librarian: 2 Posts

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:

• Assistant Professor / Assistant Librarian: Candidate must possess a Master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) along with clearing NET / CSIR-NET / AP-SET / AP-SLET. Candidates with a Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempted from NET/SET.
• Lecturer (RGUKT): First Class Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the relevant discipline satisfying AICTE/UGC norms.
• Associate Professor & Professor: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, significant research publications in indexed journals, and required years of teaching/research experience (8 years for Associate Professor, 10 years for Professor).

Age Limit (As on Notification Date):

• Maximum Age: 44 Years (for General/OC candidates).
  
• Age Relaxation: * SC / ST / BC / EWS Candidates: 5 Years relaxation (Up to 49 years) PwBD Candidates: 10 Years relaxation (Up to 54 years)

Application Fee Structure

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee online during the form-filling process:

• General / BC / EWS Categories: Rs. 2,500/- per post
• SC / ST / PwBD Categories: Rs. 2,000/- per post
• Overseas Citizens of India (OCI): Rs. 4,200/- (USD 50)

Selection Process

The selection procedure varies depending on the specific faculty positions:

For Assistant Professors / Lecturers: 

• Stage 1: Preliminary Eligibility Screening.
  
• Stage 2: Written Screening Test (Scheduled for June 22, 2026) to shorten candidates in a 12:1 ratio per post.
• Stage 3: Oral Interview and Presentation.

For Associate Professors & Professors: Shortlisting based on Academic/Research Score (API), evaluation of research publications, followed by a Direct Interview.
