Position: Research Associate Department: Yale School of the Environment – JEDSI Location: New Haven, CT (Hybrid work model) Duration: Fixed term – 3 years Job Category: Clinical & Research Compensation Grade: Clinical & Research

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise research activities for JEDSI.

• Manage projects, coordinate research assistants and interns.

• Develop and implement research protocols and methodologies.

• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to environmental justice, sustainability, and equity.

• Prepare reports, publications, and presentations.

• Assist in grant proposals and funding applications.

• Organize events, workshops, and community outreach activities.

• Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of JEDSI’s goals.

Eligibility Criteria

• Required Education: Master’s degree in a scientific discipline with at least one year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preferred Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, Sustainability, or Ecology.

• Skills Required: • Strong organizational and communication skills • Proficiency in data analysis and mapping (ArcGIS, SPSS, SAS, R) • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and statistical software • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research

• Preferred Experience: Environmental justice/community‑based research, project management, outreach, event organization, grant writing.

Salary / Funding

• Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 per year.
