Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Ph.D. in relevant/equivalent discipline from a recognized institution
• First Class in all preceding degrees from Bachelor's level onward
• Candidates completing Ph.D. directly after B.E./B.Tech. are also eligible

Experience Requirements

Assistant Professor Grade II
• No prior experience required
• Architecture candidates require M.Arch/M.Plan/M.Des with 1 year professional experience

Assistant Professor Grade I
• 3 years post-Ph.D. experience OR
• 6 years total teaching/research/industry experience
• Minimum Credit Points: 20

Associate Professor
• 6 years post-Ph.D. experience OR
• 9 years total experience with prescribed academic service requirements
• Minimum Credit Points: 50

Professor
• 10 years post-Ph.D. experience OR
• 13 years total experience as per notification norms
• Minimum Credit Points: 80

Important Guidelines

• Only regular service experience with a designated pay scale exceeding 6 months will be considered
• Guest, visiting, temporary, daily wage, and part-time experience will not be counted
• Candidates holding Ph.D. directly from IIEST Shibpur must maintain a minimum 3-year gap before applying
• OBC (NCL) and EWS certificates must be issued on or after 01 April 2026
